Each term, since its establishment, the Research Training Group GRK 2833 “East Asian Futures” has been hosting an open Online Colloquium in which external researchers from various scientific backgrounds are invited to present their research on conceptions and visions of the future in regards to East Asia.

The interdisciplinary character of the event provides our PhD students with the valuable opportunity to engage themselves with approaches to research on the future that do not necessarily align with their own research areas and also to exchange ideas and concepts with scholars outside of their field and the RTG.

At the same time, the colloquium is aimed at a wider audience that is interested in the Research Training Group’s field of research, such as prospective applicants to its PhD or Qualifying Fellowship programmes and graduate students who are considering a PhD programme in general.
