“Radicalised Uncertainty. A Sociology of Imagined Future Perspective on Crises”

Bio
Prof. Dr. Lisa SUCKERT is a sociologist who examines the economic, political, and cultural aspects of modern capitalism. Following her 2014 PhD from the University of Bamberg, she served as a Senior Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies and held visiting positions at Universität Wuppertal, the London School of Economics, and Sciences Po Paris. In 2024, she completed her habilitation at the University of Hamburg and has taken on a position as Associate Professor of Social Theory and Cultural Sociology at the University of Antwerp in the same year. Her current research focuses on imagined futures, crisis dynamics, decarbonization and climate change, political discourse and nostalgia, and social theory and transformation.
