Activity Report: Pao-wen HUANG

Ph.D. student Pao-wen HUANG of the Research Training Group GRK 2833 “East Asian Futures” held a presentation on her research topic with the title “Discovering History in Germany—Sharing Expiriences of Studying Abroad in Germany” at the Department of History of National Taiwan Normal University in Taipei, Taiwan on November 21, 2024. The presentation covered her academic journey, including her transition from agricultural economics to history and her enrollment in the Research Training Group at Ruhr-University Bochum.

She introduced the Research Training Group programme’s unique interdisciplinary framework, inspired by Reinhart Koselleck’s conceptual history, and outlined her research focus on customs, risk, and governance. The session also provided insights into the application process, life in Germany, and the collaborative academic environment of the Research Training Group.
